Many people are faced with the common effects of aging including facial wrinkles, creases and folds, thin or flat lips, and hollow areas under the eyes, temples and cheeks. Fortunately, there are numerous injectable treatments and dermal fillers available to instantly reverse the signs of aging.

These non-surgical treatments work in various ways to provide volume and lift to targeted problem areas, smoothing out wrinkles and lines, plumping flat lips, and correcting hollow areas. Today’s injectables have the power to provide complete facial rejuvenation, giving patients a more fresh and youthful appearance.

These injectables can help achieve a more youthful, well-rested look without having to undergo surgery. Treatments are fast and relatively painless, requiring little to no recovery time. The combination of no down time and minimal cost makes injectable treatments a great alternative to surgery for correcting the effects of aging. It is a great option for people who want to eliminate facial wrinkles without changing the look of their face. The muscles are simply relaxed, so you can still frown, or look surprised without wrinkles and creases. Results are noticeable within a few days and last up to 4 to 12 months depending on treatment received.

The availability of so many different types of injectables can be overwhelming. While reading a brief overview of the different types of injectables, please keep in mind that each injectable provides specific benefits, which may or may not be appropriate for your individual goals.

Neurotoxin treatments are the most popular single cosmetic procedure in the U.S. Neuromuscular toxins are used for smoothing deep, persistent lines and wrinkles that develop over time. These injectables are derived from a family of neurotoxins that prevent nerve signals in muscles from contracting. They relax the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. The positive effects of treatment by neuromuscular-based injectables usually lasts between 3 and 6 months. We currently offer Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin®.

The most commonly treated areas are those where muscle activity influences facial features such as the following:

• Frown lines
• Crow’s Feet
• Forehead creases
• Skin bands on the neck
• Corners of the mouth
• A “cobblestoned” appearance of the chin

Dermal fillers are another great option for treating wrinkles and hollow areas associated with facial aging. The most popular class of dermal fillers is based on Hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. By binding water molecules, Hyaluronic acid based products add volume under the skin to smooth wrinkles and folds, plump lips, and remove scars. In addition, skin texture is improved and has a softer and more even tone. We currently offer Restylane® products.

Restylane® is a dermal filler that works differently from neuromuscular-based injectables. Rather than reducing muscle activity, it adds volume to areas of the face and neck that have lost volume over time. It's a great way to see some impressive changes and improvements in your appearance until you're ready for a permanent surgical option. Some people opt to have hyaluronic acid injections to delay the time when a surgical facelift is more appropriate. Restylane® effects last up to 6-12 months with optimal treatment.

Your initial treatment will begin with a consultation, during which you will meet with a licensed healthcare provider to discuss your concerns and goals. Procedures are non-surgical, fast, simple, and minimally invasive, and no anesthesia is required. Injections are administered with an ultra-fine needle directly into the area being treated. Discomfort is minimal and brief, and once complete, there is usually no discomfort. Some patients may experience mild bruising and swelling, but these are temporary and should subside over the days following treatment. Most people return directly to work or normal activity following treatment.
